The shop is seeing so many guitars recently we just have not been able to keep up with the blog. We apologize to those of you that like to read our nonsense. So we are going to do something different and just give some eye candy for all of you. The first Guitar of the Week - 1964 Gibson SG Melody Maker. We did a full restoration on this instrument bringing back to the amazing glory that it is. Scott the owner was even cool enough to leave it with us for several weeks a
Everyone that knows me knows ES-335's are my favorite. Just something about the semi hollow guitars speaks to me. From crystal clear cleans to down right nasty fuzz the ES-335 is spot on. Now take one that his been around for nearly 60 years and it is that much better. This guitar is one of the top 10 electrics to come into this shop. With that said Mike's 1964 is still the best to ever come in this shop, but this one is in the running. How about that 2 vintage ES-33
Had the chance to work a workhorse of an acoustic recently. The Gibson Songwriter Deluxe. The guitar took a fall and cracked the lower edge and knocked the binding loose as well. The multiple layers of the binding actually separated as well. Years of playing left the frets looking like the Grand Canyon. The pictures show the repairs of before and after. Look at the captions for explanation. I would write more, but you guitar people are keeping me crazy busy.
Well this was an absolute pleasure to work on and play. Thank you to Jay for bringing her in. I absolutely love thin body hollowbody guitars. I love mini humbuckers even more. Great combo. The guitar needed a complete re-fret, some electronic work and some other various tinkering. The pictures of this say it all. #GibsonGuitarRepair #guitarrepair #OrlandoGuitarRepair #LRCGuitars #Epiphoneguitars #Epiphoneguitarrepair #HollowBodyGuitarRepair #EpiphoneSorrento
